One Day Closer To You -- Carolyn Dawn Johnson

My married friends keep asking me
When I'll settle down
They tell me time is passing
And there's not to many good ones still around
I tell them I am not afriad to be alone
And there's no need to rush into something wrong

So I'm not gonna worry
No I'm in no hurry
It's in the hands of fate
There's nothing I can do
And it might be tomorrow
Or the one that follows
Got the rest of my life to look forward to
Cause everyday is one day closer to you

You might be in Montana
Living in the hills
Or you might be in Virginia
Workin' in a mill
All I know is that I haven't found you yet
But who knows maybe we've already met

So I'm not gonna worry
No I'm in no hurry
It's in the hands of fate
There's nothing I can do
And it might be tomorrow
Or the one that follows
Got the rest of my life to look forward to
Cause everyday is one day closer to you

Hoah
Everyday I pray that God will keep you safe
Cause I know your out there somewhere

So I'm not gonna worry
No I'm in no hurry
It's in the hands of fate
There's nothing I can do

And it might be tomorrow
Or the one that follows
Got the rest of my life to look forward to
Cause everyday is one day closer

Yeah everyday is one day closer
Everyday is one day closer to you
Yeah hoah oh

  • Katie!!!

I think that is our newest theme song :)
I love the words. They say it well. I am so curious how it sounds! What kind of music is it? I'm guessing country, but I could be very wrong! (And even if it is country, it probably is a slow song and sounds pretty! hehe).
Thanks for posting that song.. I've been having some conversations with God lately about that. I hope you talk with Him about it too! love ya.

  • It is a beautiful song... i love it! And yes, it's country. The funny thing is that shortly after she released this song, she met a guy and she's now married. Anyways, this song has been my "lyrics du jour" many, many o' days.

Yes, i often go through spells when finding "that guy" is all i can think about and it's very depressing, and i keep searching for answers to explain God's timing for my life....... This song has kinda been an inspiration to me and has tried to keep me grounded during those tough days.

(And thanks for your comments, Julie... i wasn't sure if anyone had ever come to visit this side of my blog yet... i'm glad you're here!)
